Montpellier Magic: von Stein Vows

Our love story began with a flick of the thumb to the right - you matched! Tinder, who would've thunk it? 

We met for drinks at a gin bar in Somerset West where Hein phoned Stace ahead of time to order her a drink. Stace then proceeded to negate the fact that we were meeting at a gin bar, and request every cocktail imaginable that DOES NOT contain gin. Things were off to a great start clearly, even the waiter said, "Sho good luck with this one".  Hein didn't need the luck, Stace is perfect.

​We were inseparable from the get-go, even amidst Stace's parents basically saying "Not for a fok" after meeting Hein for the first time, where he arrived with: a gun, piercings, tattoos, a motorbike, and anxiety. But we persevered and decided to move in together only 3 months after the gin debacle. 

​

We are often asked by those who have not had the pleasure of experiencing the dark humour that we bring to events, "When did you know you loved each other?". It's quite simple really, after an eventful bachelor party (dankie Schalk), Hein got Ecoli. This led to a bathroom requiring intensive trauma counselling - the toilet and shower were never the same and Stace requiring a hazmat suit. Thus we knew we loved each other, Stace put on her rubber gloves to get cleaning and Hein was admitted to the hospital.

A year and a half after what has become known as "the Ecoli incident", in a beautiful hide in the Kruger National Park, Hein went down on one knee and asked Stace to get him through all future waterborne diseases he may contract. She said "YES!"
